More Info on ABB Drives
The ABB AC Drive portfolio covers the complete spectrum of drives; from micro and machinery drives for machine building, to industrial drives for controlling processing lines, all the way up to industry-specific drives with purpose-designed features and functionality.
No matter the application, ABB Drives boost productivity, improve energy efficiency and cut maintenance costs.
ABB recently introduced the ACS580 all-compatible general purpose drive to the North American market. The ACS580 drive provides user-friendly, energy-efficient motor and process control, keeping user systems running smoothly while saving time and money over the product lifecycle. It is designed to control pumps, fans, conveyors, mixers and many other variable and basic constant-torque applications. All units for the North American market will be made at the ABB facility in New Berlin, Wisconsin.
The ACS580, which supports a variety of motor types, including high-efficiency permanent magnet motors, is part of ABB’s all-compatible drives portfolio, offering scalability without adding complexity.
The wall-mounted drive is available in power ranges from 1 to 350 HP at 460 volts, in both UL Type 1 and 12 enclosures. The UL Type 12 drive has a reduced footprint providing more mounting flexibility in harsh environments.
Benefits and features of the ACS580:
· Saves time and money: All essential features are built into the drive, reducing the need to deal with external components, extra cabling and space restrictions, as well as their related costs.
· Smooth system operation in all environments: With conformal coated circuit boards (IEC60721-3-3 class 3C3), a compact UL Type 12 enclosure option and thorough testing of all protective features at maximum temperatures and nominal loads, it is ideal for harsh environments.
· Unmatched service and support: ABB factory and local drives experts are available throughout the product lifecycle to assist with developing functional, cost-effective, and easy-to-maintain systems, and improving designs to meet specific project requirements.
