Combining Maintenance and Workflow for Improved Asset Management

March 8, 2024
LLumin and eschbach partner to integrate their computerized maintenance management and workflow technologies for improved safety, performance and sustainability.

LLumin, a provider of enterprise asset management and predictive maintenance software, and eschbach, supplier of the Shiftconnector manufacturing enterprise platform, announced their partnership to deliver what they call “the first rules-based, action-triggering, bi-directional CMMS solution.”

This combination of technologies reportedly enables “enhanced and transparent collaboration among shift teams that manage plant assets, such as plant equipment, machines and instrumentation,” said Ed Garibian, LLumin CEO. “We see the value in maintaining a cohesive workflow throughout multiple shifts, especially when it comes to performing preventive maintenance to reduce downtime in addition to improving production.”

eschbach’s artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing capabilities can be adapted to the specific manufacturer’s needs to optimize plant operations and help teams avoid disruptions by automatically identifying and deploying appropriate fixes.

The use of AI-driven smart search capabilities in the Shiftconnector platform enables manufacturing and engineering teams to improve plant performance by quickly finding answers based on the company’s history of documented tribal knowledge captured by the platform. Shiftconnector’s ability to retrieve the most relevant information helps teams recover from disruptions by immediately identifying appropriate fixes. In addition, knowledge captured with each application supports future workforce changes.

Andreas Eschbach, founder and CEO of eschbach, explained that “with LLumin’s capabilities to do a deep dive on asset management and predictive maintenance combined with Shiftconnector’s ability to ensure that the right asset and maintenance information is communicated in real-time, chemical, pharmaceutical and food/beverage companies will improve workforce collaboration and productivity, increase asset uptime and lifecycles, OEE levels and greatly improve overall plant efficiency.”
