Motion Industries to Acquire LSI Supply

The acquisition will expand Motion Industries’ operations in Canada with five distribution locations.

Motion Industries, a distributor of maintenance, repair and operation replacement parts, and a provider of industrial technology products, has signed a definitive purchase agreement to acquire the operating assets of Canadian-based LSI Supply and its sister company 273 Ontario.

Headquartered in Windsor, Ontario, LSI Supply has five area locations and distributes bearings, seals, power transmission and fluid power components, as well as industrial supplies. Industries served by LSI include agriculture, automotive, food and beverage, marine, plastic injection, renewable energy, and tool and die. LSI also provides maintenance supplies for the military and wastewater services.

With annual sales of more than $8 billion, Motion distributes more than 19 million parts and supplies, including bearings; mechanical power transmission products; electrical and industrial automation components; hoses, belting and gaskets; hydraulic and pneumatic components; process pumps; industrial and safety products; seals and accessories; and material handling products. The company also offers value-added services, including engineering, fabrication, repair and Industry 4.0 technologies across these product groups. In addition, Motion Automation Intelligence (Motion Ai), Motion Conveyance Solutions and Motion Repair & Services offer a range of specialized, related products for diverse industry applications.

Motion North America has more than 550 branches and service centers and 17 distribution centers. Motion Asia Pacific has more than 150 branches and service centers and 13 distribution centers in Australasia. Motion serves more than 200,000 OEM and MRO customers in the aggregate and cement, automotive, chemical and allied products, equipment and machinery, equipment rental and leasing, fabricated metals, food and beverage, iron and steel, lumber and wood, oil and gas, pulp and paper, and rubber products.
