The 2-phase controlled RSGD Softstarter Series reduces starting current of three-phase motors up to 40 hp to 3 to 4 times the rated motor current (compared to 5 to 8 times for across-the-line starting), resulting in smoother starting and stopping of motors, increased motor lifetime and reduced electrical disturbances on the supply network.
The 45-amp starter's compact size enables it to fit limited sized panel spaces, providing easier access for replacement of electromechanical contactors. Main technical features include an auto-adaptive algorithm for optimal inrush current reduction and current balancing, a user-friendly interface, an intelligent algorithm that reacts to stalled motors and a compact 45 mm wide housing. Units are available for 220 to 400 VAC (internally supplied) and 220 to 600 VAC (externally supplied). Optional relay outputs include Top of Ramp (bypass) and Alarm. Suggested applications include the HVAC, agriculture, plastic & rubber and elevator markets.
