Kollmorgen: Stainless Steel Servomotors

Aug. 24, 2013
The AKMH series motors are easy to clean.

Based on the company's AKM series, the motors are designed to address the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). The IP69K rated synchronous servomotors feature a hygienic housing design that meets EHEDG, NSF, BISSC and 3A guidelines. They are constructed with materials to provide long-life and trouble-free operation, even with daily exposure to chemicals and high pressure washdowns. The single-cable design reduces the number of potential failure modes and minimizes installation time. The smooth surface design, along with the use of highly corrosion-resistant 316L stainless steel, decreases the risk of product recalls by reducing the possibility of bacteria growth. The motor requires no additional protection and can be sanitized without covering it or removing it from the machine. As a result, food, beverage, packaging, medical, pharmaceutical and converting OEMs can design and build more reliable and productive machines that are easier and faster to clean, thus minimizing unscheduled downtime for end users. Continuous torques from 0.3 to 22 Nm are available.
