The new partnership between Mouser Electronics and Edge Impulse is a significant development for automation engineers, combining machine learning (ML) with edge devices to create innovative opportunities, Control Design reported.

This collaboration integrates Edge Impulse’s ML platform and tools with Mouser’s hardware products, making low-power microcontroller units, Linux central processing unit targets and graphics processing units more accessible.

This synergy aims to revolutionize ML at the edge, facilitating easier access to essential hardware for a broad spectrum of users, from individual developers to large corporations, thereby enhancing the scalability of ML applications.

Control Design reported that the partnership is particularly important because it broadens the availability of development platforms and products crucial for edge AI applications. Edge Impulse’s hardware-agnostic platform allows engineers and students to utilize various hardware options, promoting diverse AI and ML applications across industries like manufacturing, healthcare and consumer electronics.

The collaboration builds on previous joint efforts, such as the BrickML system-on-module, which enables edge ML development and deployment.
