Advantech and Altizon Develop Digital Transformation Partnership

May 22, 2023
Advantech and Altizon launch an integrated hardware and software offering designed to simplify and speed up the modernization of factory operations.

Advantech, a provider of industrial Internet of Things (IoT) hardware and automation technology, and Altizon, supplier of the Datonis Digital Factory industrial IoT software platform, have launched a partnership designed to ease the process of transforming existing manufacturing plants into smart factories. The two companies claim the integrated hardware and software used in this partnership help create digital factories with low capital investment and a fast process to modernization.

The technology bundle includes the following Advantech intelligent hardware devices that include both X86 and ARM-based platforms and a smart sensor:

  • Uno-2271G-V2 Intel-based Edge IoT Gateway (this gateway is pre-certified with Microsoft Azure Edge and AWS IoT Greengrass for secure orchestration between cloud services and edge devices).
  • Adam-6717 Linux intelligent I/O gateway.
  • Wise-S100 stack light monitoring sensor.

Altizon’s platform provides a suite of applications that digitize critical operational functions, such as production, maintenance, quality, energy and sustainability. This analytics platform works with all major SCADA system architectures and protocols, according to Altizon. The software also features a self-service API (application programming interface) to enable customized integration with existing IT systems.

Key features of the Datonis Digital Factory platform include:

  • Secure data exchanges in real time.
  • Edge device management from the cloud.
  • Out-of-the box apps with rapid configuration capabilities.
  • Standard set of reports and dashboards to accelerate business value realization.
  • Data analysis at scale.

Advantech hardware and Altizon’s Datonis Digital Factory platform are pre-validated and pre-installed to ensure smooth deployment.

“The partnership between Advantech and Altizon brings great value to our systems integrators and end-user customers by solving common pain points on the factory floor with simplified digital transformation,” said Carolyn Swan, director of partnerships, Advantech North America IIoT Group. “End-user customers can be up and running within four to six weeks and enjoy higher productivity, real-time edge intelligent analytics, lower operational costs and faster time to market.”
