The Heat Exchange Institute (HEI) is pleased to announce the release of the first edition of Standards for Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers.
The Heat Exchange Institute (HEI) is pleased to announce the release of the first edition of Standards for Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers. The first edition of the standard represents another step in HEI’s continuing program to provide standards that reflect the latest technological advancements in the field of heat exchange equipment.
The HEI formally approved the formation of the Plate Heat Exchanger Section in 2011. Since then, the members of the Section have used their expertise and working knowledge of plate heat exchangers to produce a design standard of the quality that the heat exchange industry is accustomed to seeing from the HEI. This standard provides users of gasketed plate heat exchangers with information on plate heat transfer technology, thermal and hydraulic heat exchange performance, mechanical design standards, assembly and fabrication, testing and preparation, and operational considerations. The Heat Exchange Institute (HEI) is a non-profit trade association committed to the technical advancement, promotion, and understanding of a broad range of utility and industrial-scale heat exchange and vacuum apparatus. The Institute concentrates its efforts on the manufacturing and engineering aspects of steam surface condensers, closed feedwater heaters, gasketed heat exchangers, shell and tube heat exchangers, liquid ring vacuum pumps, air cooled condensers, steam jet ejectors, and deaerators.
Since its founding over 60 years ago, the Institute has earned international recognition as the leading authority on the technologies for heat exchange and vacuum apparatus. Institute standards are used throughout the world for the design, manufacture, and operation of heat exchange and vacuum equipment.
