Kepware Technologies, the leader in Communications for Automation, announced today that it has released KEPServerEX version 5.5. This release delivers many significant new features, including added SNMP Agent capabilities and two major configuration enhancements to simplify project configuration.
In a continuing effort to expand their IT and infrastructure offerings, Kepware Technologies has added SNMP Agent capabilities to the KEPServerEX portfolio. The SNMP Agent allows Network Management Systems (NMS) interoperability with industrial automation equipment, thus providing IT professionals a familiar toolset when working with the control network.
KEPServerEX version 5.5 also contains two major configuration enhancements geared towards simplifying project configuration. Users can now configure all modem settings and behaviors within the KEPServerEX environment, and are no longer required to script certain functionalities within their client applications. In addition, an enhanced Multiple Tag Generation Tool now allows users to automate the creation of tag databases with minimal effort.
"Kepware is committed to continually improving our products to enhance our existing customers' experience. A major goal is to make the configuration and validation of communications as easy to use and as intuitive as possible," said Tony Paine, President of Kepware Technologies. "This is in addition to our continual efforts to broaden our product offerings."
Other notable enhancements include automatic Device Discovery for the BACnet/IP Driver, version 3 security features for the SNMP Driver, support for the Yaskawa MP2000iec device model, and continued support for WITS-DNP3. There were a total of 28 KEPServerEX drivers, plug-in options, and client interfaces that received updates.
