Software Toolbox, in conjunction with their partner Cogent Real-Time Systems, recently participated in the OPC Foundation’s OPC Xi Technology demonstration. In this demonstration, a number of OPC Foundation members demonstrated product interoperability using the OPC Xi (Express interface) specifications. Software Toolbox demonstrated their OmniServer universal OPC server with a Xi interface and Cogent Real-Time Systems demonstrated their OPC DataHub with both a Xi Server and Client interface. The OPC Xi interfaces leverage Microsoft Windows Communications Framework (WCF) technologies to connect OPC servers and clients without using DCOM.
