As the manufacturing industry requires more tracking of personnel, raw
material, parts and completed products, Signature Capture allows
companies to stay ahead of the tracking process and seamlessly
incorporate them into the business. The new application can be used in
all areas of the ERP system and provides cost savings with less
paperwork and legwork. Signature Capture enables IQMS customers to use
an electronic tablet to store signatures as part of Bill of Lading (BOL)
documents within IQMS’s flagship ERP software, EnterpriseIQ.
“IQMS Signature Capture highlights our development agility as well as
our ability to listen to what our customers want,” said Randy Flamm,
president and founder of IQMS. “This is another great application from
our automation group, which keeps close tabs on customer needs and
industry trends.”
IQMS’s automation group developed Signature Capture based on requests
from customers who were looking for a secure way to obtain and store
hand written signature releases within the ERP system. The application
works by converting signatures for storage in the database as an
attachment to the BOL documents. If the bill is reprinted or viewed at a
later time, the signature is part of the document. Signature Capture
provides another way for IQMS and EnterpriseIQ to further link the shop
and ERP to offer an extended package – all within a single database.
“Signature Capture speeds up the entire process,” said Juan Hernandez,
IT manager for Monoflo International, Inc., a leading manufacturer of
reusable container systems, which was an original adopter of the
product. “We save time and money in shipping and accounting, and it’s
great for the environment. This is a serious green solution.”
