Standard or Fail-safe Controller

Sept. 1, 2008
The Simatic CPU 319-3 PN/DP controller is designed for short response and machine cycle times to boost productivity.

The controller boasts three communication interfaces: a combined MPI/Profibus DP interface, a pure Profibus DP interface, and a Profinet industrial Ethernet interface. It also features a Web server function that allows remote access to controller and I/O diagnostics via the Profinet port from either intranet or Internet, using only a standard Web browser. A fail-safe version is offered that is suited for applications that make high demands on performance and functional safety. All three onboard interfaces on the “safety” version support connection of fail-safe I/O modules.
