The IntraVUE Plug is a hardware/software solution that can plug directly
into any Ethernet network to monitor networks where there is no local
computer available or isolated OEM or I/O networks to monitor.
The system has been developed to be remotely configured and managed. Two Ethernet ports allow scanning of intentionally isolated networks while allowing connection to a separate management or plant floor PLC network. Intravue Plugs can be viewed remotely by many computers or HMI stations, and the related Intravue Supervisor product monitors multiple IntraVUE systems. The system’s Linux operating system and isolated ports reportedly provide better security than traditional Windows applications, and the units small footprint and low price make the IntraVUE Plug appropriate for linking to PLC or I/O applications. Isolated OEM networks can be added to the main plant network without the complexity of adding or configuring Routers or NATs.
