New Touch-safe Ring Lug Terminal Blocks

Dec. 2, 2011
Weidmuller announces the expansion of the ST Ring Lug Terminal Block Series with three new touch-safe terminals, the ST5 N, ST6, and ST25.
Featuring a slimmer profile, a hinged shroud, and a self-locking (captive) fastener this new design offers the fastest termination method for ring lug style terminals.

Although suitable for standard wire termination applications in the power generation, semi-conductor manufacturing, and transportation industries, Weidmuller's new ST Series modules are ideal for use in current transformer applications where the operator risks potential exposure to high voltages. Also included in the ST Series expansion are new variations of Weidmuller's classic open-style ring lug terminals.

Weidmuller's new ST Series modules feature the same touch-safe design with an optional integrated test socket screw head, which allows the user to insert a current meter without circuit disruption. The most unique, ST6 feed-through terminal is offered with a companion slide link disconnect terminal, the ST6 T. Used together, they can be configured to create multiple phase testing blocks for current transformer applications. The operator can install a meter into the test socket screw head of the ST6 T and open the circuit via the slide link disconnect, allowing the current to flow through the meter. When testing is complete, the slide link disconnect can be moved to the closed position and the meter can be removed.

Weidmuller's ST Ring Lug Terminal series meets CSA/UL standards for high voltage power transmission applications with ratings up to 1000V and 100A and wire gauges from 26…3AWG. The new ST Series modules also include a jumper/bridging channel to distribute voltage and signals, a combi-foot design for TS-32 and TS-35 DIN-rail mounting, and numerous connection options from lug dimension to standard or integrated test socket screws. All terminals in the line accept Weidmuller's Dekafix (DEK) and WS markers and are offered with additional accessories such as adapter sleeve/pins, jumpers for cross-connection, and end plates.
