Nematron Corporation announces the expansion of the ePC-Lite Series.

Nematron Corporation announces the expansion of the ePC-Lite Series.  The ePC-Lite Series was first introduced in 2010 as an economical, UL-approved, fanless line of industrial PCs. Now this expanded and upgraded series features an embedded Intel Dual Core ATOM N2800 CPU board and onboard internal mSATA Solid State Drive technology. It is a low-cost alternative industrial panel mount PC solution for applications requiring high performance and reliability without an overload of features. The Lite Series is yet another superbly engineered industrial product offered by Nematron and backed by a solid 2-year warranty.

The ePC-Lite industrial PC series was initially launched as a solitary 15-inch panel to test the market with a low-cost, limited-feature set, alternative industrial PC. With its success, Nematron will continue to offer the 15-inch display (ePC15T), and has expanded the series by adding a 19-inch LCD touch panel PC (ePC19T) to the selection. Taking it a step further for applications that do not require an integrated LCD display, Nematron also offers the Lite in a stand-alone, non-display Node (nPC10).

The ePC-Lite Series is competitively priced with a solid feature set. “The success of the first ePC15T Lite PC showed us that it was time to expand the series,” explains Ralph Damato, VP – Product Management of Nematron. “The growing demand for larger screen sizes in today’s industrial PC market was the major factor for adding the 19-inch display, which has always been a popular LCD size offering for Nematron customers. The nPC10 Node rounds out the ePC-Lite Series, giving customers non-display choices for their applications. We feel that the upgrades we have made by offering a much faster fanless Dual Core CPU and utilizing onboard mSATA drives improves overall performance and reliability, and also keeps the ePC-Lites cost-competitive. And best of all, the ePC-Lites are designed, built, and supported with pride in the USA,” continues Damato.

The new ePC-Lites utilize an Intel® Dual Core ATOM N2800 1.86 GHz processor and Intel CPU board which provides enough processing power to run the most complex HMI and SCADA applications. The use of onboard internal mSATA Solid State Drive technology provides a dramatic increase in speed, performance, and reliability, while also eliminating cabling to the motherboard. Windows 7 Professional (32-bit) is the standard operating system, providing enhanced system performance and an open environment for application expansion.

The fanless ePC-Lite computers come standard with new LED-backlit 15.0” XGA and 19.0” SXGA LCD displays, 2 GB DRAM, analog resistive 5-wire touchscreen, and a NEMA 4 front panel. The ePC-Lites are powered by a 12 VDC Class 2 power source. An external 100-240 VAC power supply brick is included. I/O ports included on every unit include a 10/100/1000 Ethernet port, one RS-232 port, two USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, Audio input/output ports, and Analog and HDMI Video connections that support dual display with extended desktop. With an extremely compact panel mounting depth starting at 2.4” (61.0 mm) on the ePC15T, these may very well be some of the thinnest industrial computers available with enough processing power for most factory automation applications.

The ePC-Lite Series has UL/cUL 508 and European CE approvals, making system integration a breeze for virtually any application.  The fanless ePC-Lite Series is worth investigating for your application, you will not be disappointed.
