Automation Products Group, Inc. introduces the MND Modbus Network Display. This intuitive and flexible IP67 display can operate in sniffer or master mode to locally display volume, level, distance and/or pressure readings from any of the up to 10 sensors in a Modbus RTU network. Numerous user-selectable standard or custom units of measure are available. Readings are presented as a full 5-digit display with large 0.4 in. characters for at-a-glance readability.
“Due to their highly flexible nature, MND displays can be used in a variety of roles,” says Doug Moore, Inside Sales Manager. “For example, in master mode a battery powered MND can provide enough power to itself and to a single slave sensor to create a self-contained monitoring system. Or, it can be used to convert a calculated differential reading from two Modbus Pressure sensors into a 4-20 mA output. Finally, in sniffer mode, an MND can be added to a Tank Cloud Remote Monitoring System to provide local readings in addition to the online readings.”
While it was intentionally created to work with APG’s Tank Cloud system, the MND is a Modbus RTU display, and can be used with any Modbus RTU network. It functions very well as a sniffer, providing multiple low-cost displays in convenient locations. It is often used with remote monitoring networks because of its low current draw, which is optimal for battery-powered installations.
