Prolong Your AGV Battery Life by Using Innovative Wireless RF Technology

Jan. 15, 2020

Application article describes how one auto manufacturer is using STEUTE’s NEXY™ wireless intralogistics network to help to optimize uptime of the their AGV assembly platforms.

During planned shutdowns, the AGV’s electronics are put into deep-sleep mode to conserve battery power. STEUTE’s network enables them to wirelessly restart the AGV when production is resumed. Doing so increases the AGV’s platform utilization by reducing the number of required battery recharging cycles and their associated downtimes.”

Next steps include the use of the STEUTE wireless network for timely replenishment of WIP inventory to AGV assembly points, and the generation of AGV pick-up orders when a container is ready for transport.
