Honeywell has opened a new office in the Huaming Industrial Zone of Tianjin, in northern China. A subsidiary of Honeywell Tianjin Co., Ltd., the facility will provide engineering services and turnkey solutions including design, systems integration, testing and training for Honeywell process industry customers in China and the Asia Pacific region.
Spanning 7,000 square meters and serving as the operational base for Honeywell Process Solutions engineers, the new office will serve customers in oil and gas, chemical, power and pulp and paper industries.
Tianjin is the sixth largest city in the People's Republic of China (PRC), and is home to major industries including petrochemicals, as well as being rich in oil and mineral deposits. “We welcome Honeywell as the first Fortune 500 company to establish operations in the Huaming Industrial Zone, and we welcome the company’s continued support and investment in the Tianjin Municipality,” said Dai Dongqiang, executive officer of Dong Li district, Tianjin. “The local process industries will now have easy access to experts in the field and the best portfolio of process control solutions at Honeywell’s Tianjin site.”
Honeywell already has established RD&E facilities in major Chinese cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Nanjing, Suzhou, Xi’an, and the company has "over 1,400 dedicated technologists and scientists tackling some of the country’s toughest challenges including energy efficiency, energy generation, safety and security," according to a spokesman. Prior to this facility in Tianjin, Honeywell Process Solutions established a global engineering service facility in Chongqing in 2007, with a dedicated engineering team to solve local customer problems.
“This new facility demonstrates Honeywell’s long-term commitment to the Chinese market,” said Chris Dartnell, vice president and general manager, strategic geographies, Honeywell Process Solutions (www.honeywellprocess.com). “At Tianjin we will provide state-of-the-art technology solutions and lifecycle services to Chinese and Asia Pacific customers. We are committed to investing in China and to helping our customers improve the safety, reliability and sustainability of their operations in the long term.”
