Summit Media Group's Automation World announces two staff changes designed to further enhance the media brand’s editorial strength and readiness for the next decade of publishing. Celebrating ten years of publication this summer, Automation World is written for automation professionals in the batch and continuous process industries, and discrete manufacturing.
This week, business press editor Aaron Hand joins Automation World as Executive Editor. A respected industry journalist, Hand has over two decades of experience editing technical journals, and was most recently the Managing Editor of Putman Media's Control Design and Industrial Networking. He also covered industrial automation during his time at Reed Business Information's Semiconductor International, where he worked for a decade, advancing to the position of Editor-in-Chief. At Automation World, Hand will specialize in covering the continuous process industries, including oil and gas, chemicals and power generation.
In a parallel development, Managing Editor Renee R. Bassett has been promoted to Deputy Editor. Bassett has been with Automation World for two years. In her new role, she'll have increased visibility in the field, reporting on automation developments via more frequent plant visits and attendance at industry events. She will focus her coverage on advancements in the batch process industries including food, beverage, pharmaceuticals, water/waste water and specialty chemicals.
Comments Director of Content / Editor-in-Chief David Greenfield, "We're very pleased that Aaron Hand has joined our editorial team. His industry knowledge and publishing expertise offer huge value to our readers and advertisers. Props to our new Deputy Editor, as well! With Renee in her new position, our readers will enjoy more quality coverage from one of today’s best industrial automation reporters."
Jim Chrzan, Automation World Publisher, shares his thoughts: "Although some media outlets today believe you can run magazines and websites largely with reader-based content, we disagree. While reader-based content has its place, decades of experience have taught us that readers often do not have time to contribute and many have proprietary restrictions on what they can discuss. We are committed to long-term investment in our in-house staff of professional business journalists, like David, Renee and Aaron. Their informed, objective reporting and analysis offers consistent value to our audience. What a great way to begin our second decade publishing Automation World!"
