aeSolutions announces that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued US Patent 8, 589, 214 for Health Meter, the executive dashboard of aeShield, their safety lifecycle management system. This enterprise software supports companies in achieving process safety goals, implementing industry safety standards, and ensuring consistent data collection in compliance with ISA 84.00.01/IEC 61511 and the related requirements of OSHA 1910.119.
The patented Health Meters provide visualization of the safety performance of the facility at multiple levels and alert companies to deviations from the risk management strategy. A key benefit of this patented Health Meter is that is provides executives high-level visibility of the overall health of process safety in a facility on their device connected to a network. This executive dashboard in aeShield can aid management in making prompt and proactive safety decisions in order to prevent loss of containment events and other hazardous conditions.
The Health Meter will display and provide drill down capability into the percent completion of safety lifecycle activities including analysis of safety integrity level calculations required by the LOPA for the facility, gap analysis results, test interval performance analysis, assumed failure rates compared to actual failure rates, results from a time in bypass analysis, project completion percentage, assumed demand rates compared to actual demand rates, and assumed causes compared to actual causes, and an overall Safety Instrumented System (SIS) health rating.
“We are continuously looking for ways to improve the process safety industry and this innovation helps our clients quickly identify process safety areas in their facilities that may need attention so they can be proactive and less reactive on potential hazards. Based on the requirements of ISA84, aeShield perfectly aligns with our company’s vision to be recognized and preferred by industry for our process safety engineering and automation solutions,” stated Mike Scott, Executive Vice President of Process Safety for aeSolutions.
