Schneider Electric to Name Winners of Software OPEN Contest

Sept. 30, 2014
Continuing a tradition started by Wonderware in 1998, attendees at Schneider Electric’s 2014 Software Global Customer Conference in Orlando, Fla., will hear the results of a competition honoring innovative uses of the company’s software.

In a ceremony to be hosted by Schneider Electric’s Software Business Vice President of Sales, Eddy Manicardi, and Director of Marketing Laurie Lavelle, Schneider Electric will announce the winners of its Software OPEN Contest on Wednesday, October 1.

The competition rewards and celebrates customers’ innovative uses of Schneider Electric software products to generate significant business results. Awards will be given in six categories, including HMI and Supervisory Control Excellence; Manufacturing Operations Management Excellence; Production Information Management Excellence; Operational Excellence; Optimization/Simulation Excellence; and Asset Excellence. An overall Champion will also be named from those five finalists.

The contest has been a long tradition within Wonderware/Invensys, and is being continued this year. Former Wonderware executive Ravi Gopinath, now executive vice president of Schneider Electric’s software business, will award the trophies to the winners.

“We’ve had a fairly good number of quality entries from some of our best customers,” said Jay David, Global Software marketing specialist and manager of the contest. “Winners are selected based on the impact the solution has on product quality, productivity, ROI, energy savings, customer responsiveness and faster time to market. Entries were judged by a team made up of industry experts, trade magazine editors, industry analysts and Schneider Electric executives.”

Former winners have included Pepsi Bottling Ventures, Johnson & Johnson, Mercedes-Benz, South African Breweries and the China Ministry of Railway.
