Due to the hard work of people throughout our organization, aeSolutions is well positioned for continued growth as a leader in process safety lifecycle engineering, automation and software tools. The founders, Brian Merriman, Mike Scott, and Ken O’Malley started preparing for this growth earlier this year, and were diligently polishing up the details of the plan just before the passing of Founder Brian Merriman in early September.
Founder, Mike Scott, has been named to the position of Executive Vice President of Global Process Safety to align with business objectives to grow globally through established alliance relationships.
Founder, Ken O'Malley, has been named to the position of Executive Vice President of Engineering & Technology to drive the continuous improvement of our work processes and provide leadership of the company’s overall quality management program and prioritized investments in research & development.
Kathy Shell, aeSolutions’ former Senior Director of Process Safety, has been named Chief Executive Officer. Kathy was instrumental in aeSolutions’ growth of process safety services in the gulf and across the US over the last four years with a diverse resume of process safety, business management, business development, automation, turnkey construction, and a commitment to client service management.
Mike Davenport, former Director of aeSolutions’ Alaska operations, has been named Vice President of Operations bringing 25 years of experience in refinery evergreen projects and grass roots oil production facility projects.
Tim Pieszchala has been hired as the Engineering & Automation Services Line of Business Senior Director. Tim has managed the installation and commissioning of large automation projects and more recently has held positions as a Regional Service Manager, Director of Engineering, and Managing Director.
Craig Shell, former PS Manager of Projects, has been promoted to Director of Process Safety.
Chris Hickling, former Senior Project Manager, has been promoted to Director of the Alaska business unit.
“My fellow founder, Brian, surrounded himself with high integrity and highly capable leaders. He has left the company in good shape to continue with his vision, but it certainly won’t be the same without him. Brian, Mike, and I agreed it was time to entrust the management of our company to new leadership capable of taking the organization into the future and to allow the three of us to have a more strategic focus,” stated Ken O’Malley, Executive Vice President of Engineering & Technology, aeSolutions. “This is an exciting new chapter for aeSolutions.”
These organizational changes were carefully executed to consider aeSolutions’ employees and customers. aeSolutions will continue to focus on customer relationships and will also nurture alliance relationships to further our mission to continuously improve the process safety performance of industry.
