HEIDENHAIN Corporation announces the new hire of Thomas F. LaRocca as a Machine Tool Product Specialist, North America.

Based in Schaumburg, IL, LaRocca is responsible for machine tool precision measurement product support including the company’s sealed linear encoders, angle encoders with integral bearings and other products that may be used in machine tool applications. In addition to the HEIDENHAIN brand, Tom also supports similar products of its ACU-RITE brand.

Providing product support to North American customers and prospects, LaRocca specializes in finding measurement solutions for a variety of machine tool applications, and is also responsible for completing market research to assist in market expansion and product placement.

A graduate of Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, IL, LaRocca received a Master of Science degree in Industrial Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Education. LaRocca has also earned numerous certifications in related fields as well as in Fire Science Technology.

In the past, LaRocca has been employed in the industrial sales field including as a Director of Manufacturing for a small local OEM, a high school shop teacher and as a firefighter / EMT for some northern Illinois municipalities.
