Klüber Lubrication, a worldwide manufacturer of specialty lubricants, will feature its multi-purpose oils and greases for offshore applications at booth #1922 during the Offshore Technology Conference, April 30 to May 3, 2018 at NRG Park in Houston, Texas. In the booth, Klüber Lubrication will be co-located with its sister company, Freudenberg Sealing Technologies, that will highlight its range of accumulators and services.

Klüber Lubrication offers a comprehensive lubrication portfolio designed for the extreme challenges found in the offshore industry, helping to improve operational efficiency, increase lubrication intervals and reduce downtime. The company will feature the following products at OTC:

Klüberplex AG 11-461 and 462 are white operating and priming lubricants, designed to lubricate couplings, joints, gear rim and pinion drives, open gears, low-speed rolling
bearings, sliding and guide rails, and steel cables of winches or cranes in marine and offshore applications. The products are able to resist high loads and protect mechanisms against corrosion when exposed to saltwater spray.

Klüberplex AG 11-461 and 462 also provide good adhesion and elevated wear protection at low temperatures, and offer reduced maintenance needs and improved component performance.

Klübersynth GEM 4 N series are synthetic, high-performance gear and multi-purpose oils that provide outstanding protection against wear with resistance to micropitting, foaming, and residue formation. They are used for the lubrication of plain and rolling bearings, toothed couplings, chains, guideways, joints, spindles and pumps. The oil is based on high-grade raw materials and advanced additives, enabling maximum performance in the lubrication of gear components.

Compared to standard formulations, Klübersynth GEM 4 N series provide good thermal stability, high load-carrying capacity, and low friction values that improve the reliability of major components. The excellent viscosity-temperature behavior supports the formation of a sufficient lubricant film, even when equipment is exposed to elevated temperatures or pronounced temperature fluctuations.

ISOFLEX TOPAS NB 52 and ISOFLEX TOPAS NB 152 are two rolling and plain bearing greases based on a synthetic hydrocarbon oil and a barium complex soap. The products are ideally suited for rolling and plain bearings that are subject to high speeds and loads, as well as low temperatures, in order to optimize operational reliability, reduce servicing costs, conserve energy and extend maintenance intervals.

The special barium-soap thickener used in the ISOFLEX TOPAS NB 52 and 152 greases offers good load-carrying capacity, as well as resistance to water and ambient media. Both products protect against corrosion, as well as oxidation and ageing. These products are the most common greases used in vibratory motors in shale shakers worldwide as well as an option for centrifuges to provide a grease for your solids control needs.

Klüberlub DP Copper Plus is a premium non-lead, non-zinc compound designed to work as an anti-seize on rotary shouldered connections, a running and sealing compound on threaded connections, as well as a storage compound. It provides maximum protection to the entire drill string and is recommended for use in all drilling applications, as well as slides, jacking systems, cantilever type rigs and assemblies. High copper content gives higher torque values, increased friction factor and better galling resistance.

Klüberlub OCTG MP is a thread compound designed to seal under harsh conditions, while providing reliable make up torques. It is an ideal solution for all tubing and casing API threaded connections. In addition to high copper content, OCTG MP works consistently in temperatures ranging from 0° to 500°F. This product meets or exceeds the performance requirements of API RP 5A3/ISO 13678.

The Klübermatic single point automatic lubrication system (SPAL) ensures an uninterrupted supply of fresh lubricant to each friction point to extend equipment reliability, minimize manual lubrication, and improve operational uptime. The system reliably delivers the correct amount of lubricant at the correct interval over the lifetime of the applicator to reduce bearing temperature and temperature spikes that may occur due to under-lubrication, reducing wear and increasing bearing life.
