Balluff, Inc: Inductive Tube Sensors for Detecting Small Parts

These sensors are useful for detecting fast moving small metal parts such as screws and rivets in automated assembly applications.
June 28, 2012

The sensors are easy to install and simple to attach to an infeed tube and offer the complete reliability of inductive sensor technology. Features include pulse extension of 150 ms, which results in reliable detection of fast-moving parts; the ability to detect objects moving at up to 20 m/s; minimum object size of an M3/5 screw; and 16 mm switching distance. The also feature centerline spacing for side-by-side mounting. Advantages of inductive proximity sensors include insensitivity to water, oil, dirt, non-metallic particles, target color, or target surface finish, and the ability to withstand high shock and vibration environments.
