Apriso, a leading provider of manufacturing software solutions, today announced that its FlexNet Quality application now includes visual Quality Defect Tracking (vQDT), which embeds visual imagery of products and components within FlexNet to more readily address quality defects and other quality related issues on the shop floor.
As part of the FlexNet solution formanufacturing operations management, FlexNet Quality allows you to manage all aspects of product and process quality, both within the four walls of your manufacturing facility and beyond to other facilities, vendors, partners and suppliers. The FlexNetenterprise quality management and execution system seamlessly integrates with existing ERP and PLM systems to provide consistent quality metrics across the enterprise as a closed-loop, event-driven architecture.
By creating a seamless process between the visual identification of potential quality issues and the required process improvement to remedy, FlexNet’s visual Quality Defect Tracking can help reduce the cost of out-of-conformance quality by improving the visibility to quality issues. And, as a tablet-enabled application, FlexNet Quality supports how Quality Managers interact on the shop floor with mobile devices and highly-graphical interfaces.
“Managing quality information and data, as well as coordinating business processes both inside the four walls of the business and with upstream and downstream value chain partners, is no small undertaking. Visibility is essential, as business leaders need to see quality issues and manage these risks before they become problems further downstream.”stated Simon Jacobson, Research Vice President at Gartner, in EQM Hubs Unite Quality Management IT Systems Across the Value Chain; ID: G00231227.
FlexNet’s vQDT allows manufacturers to track and analyze product defects at the level of individual occurrence, including product configuration, runtime and analysis. With this capability, operators can use images of the product to pinpoint the exact spot of a defect to quickly provide important data at the location with a mobile device for visual root cause analysis to help reduce future defects.
“This new product enhancement responds to overwhelming industry demand from manufacturers that are challenged with how to best manage quality issues across an increasingly more complex manufacturing environment,” said Milosz Majta, product manager, quality and maintenance at Apriso. “This expanded functionality helps manufacturers to increase the speed and accuracy of how quality defect data is captured and displayed, including how this information can be aggregated to see broader trends of where quality defects are occurring.”
This new capability is now available for all Apriso customers running FlexNet Quality version 9.5 or higher.
