AIS’s new “wireless-ready” HMI solutions combine their proven, rugged, industrial touch-panel PC designs and Industrial IoT (IIoT) expertise, to produce a new family of Value line HMI solutions with embedded optional wireless mobility capabilities for secure, reliable connectivity from the plant floor to the enterprise network by meeting the requirements of the IEEE 802.11 standard. The IEEE 802.11 is a set of media access control (MAC) and physical layer (PHY) specifications for implementing wireless local area network (WLAN) computer communication in the 2.4, 3.6, 5, and 60 GHz frequency bands. They are created and maintained by the IEEE LAN/MAN Standards Committee (IEEE 802). AIS’s Compact Industrial Panel PCs offer an optional module with a highly integrated single-chip Wireless LAN (WLAN) PCI Express network interface controller compatible with the 802.11n specification. It combines a MAC, a 1T1R capable baseband, and RF in a single chip. The RTL8188CE provides a complete solution for a high throughput performance wireless client. The RTL8188CE baseband implements Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) with 1 transmit and 1 receive path and is compatible with the IEEE 802.11n specification 2.0. Features include one spatial stream transmission, short guard interval (GI) of 400ns, spatial spreading, and transmission over 20MHz and 40MHz bandwidth.
