The Industrial Automation Group of Advantech is proud to announce new features for the APAX-5620 PLC. The APAX-5620 PLC now supports redundancy. In less than 10ms when the primary controller goes offline, the backup controller will take over. By using Advantech’s PLC software, a redundancy solution is easy. Programmers can configure the primary and backup controller from a simple configuration screen; no code level thinking is required.
The APAX-5620 supports five IEC-61131-3 languages including Ladder Diagram (LD), Function Block Diagram (FBD), Structured Text (ST), Instruction List (IL), and Sequential Function Chart (SFC). Programmers can develop a project in any of these languages or combination of languages, allowing the programmer to take advantage of each languages key feature. For example, programmers may choose the structured text language for advanced functions to create custom function blocks and then drop those function blocks into a ladder program.
Many customers are amazed by the flexibility of the I/O architecture. The architecture is network based allowing for the use of network switches with the I/O. The configuration of the I/O in a local or remote scenario is the same.
The APAX I/O is fault tolerant and is hot swappable. Faulting the processor when I/O goes offline is a choice, not mandatory.
Advantech’s APAX product line is designed and built by Advantech, the world leader in Industrial Computing. Through the combined efforts of Advantech’s Industrial Computing and I/O teams, the APAX product line is a cost-effective solution meanwhile providing you a high-end solution.
