Wastewater Plants: New iPad App for Operators

July 23, 2010
ECO:LOGIC Engineering releases an Interactive Operations Manual (IOM) application for the iPad mobile device, enabling wastewater plants to streamline operations and maintenance.

The new iPad app will allow for wastewater operators to access thousands of documents and schematics used to operate a plant. Dave Bennett, President of ECO:LOGIC, says,"Operators aren't inclined to flip through the hundreds of resources that keep a plant going. The IOM app puts each documents, including photos, schematics, web links and maintenance schedules at the operator's fingertips."

Other advantages of the iPad app include the ability to add notes or photographs to pages, for example, describing the tools to needed to adjust a valve or details of a critical piece of equipment. The iPad does not use a stylus, it uses touch technology for input.

The iPad app is being used at the Sand Andreas Sanitary District.
