2-Port CAN-bus PCI-104 Communication Module

May 20, 2010
The Industrial Automation Group of Advantech introduces the PCM-3680I, a 2-port 16 MHz CAN-bus PCI-104 module with isolation protection.

The PCM-3680I is designed for connecting control units and transmissions in automation applications. CAN enable’s real-time data transmission and error detection. Even when errors accidentally occur, CAN networks will automatically repeat transmissions, drastically reducing data loss and providing higher levels of security. Furthermore, the PCM-3680I features an optical isolation protection of 2,500 VDC which ensures system reliability by protecting data against damage.

The PCM-3680I comes with a standard PCI-104 interface that makes it a desirable solution under imperfect circumstances, such as the presence of shock or vibration. Compared with other methods of connection, a stackable design offers PCM-3680I more reliable connections with other PC/104 modules. Besides seamless connections, PCI-104 interface helps increase the convenience of function extension.

Other features include: LED indicated transmit/receive status on each port, high operating temperature range of -40 ~ 85° C, supports Windows 2000/XP/Vista and Linux. Also, the I/O address automatically is assigned by PCI PnP and supports DLL library with examples included.

With all these features, the PCM-3680I is an excellent choice to connect field devices while saving installation efforts and costs. For more information or to purchase, please contact Advantech directly or your regional Advantech authorized distributor.
