Heat Trace Connectors Save Time

June 1, 2009
The vendor’s line of Heat Trace Connectors reportedly provide an electrically and environmentally reliable method to interconnect oil pipeline heat trace elements, while offering a reduction in installation time and cost over the traditional junction box method of connections.
The coaxial design allows for complete 360° connection, which eliminates alignment problems during installation. The coil spring contact provides for a highly reliable connection, says the vendor, and reduces the chance of contact destruction if the connector is accidentally disconnected while under load. A pivot lever locking mechanism, located on the connector’s exterior, provides a fast and secure fit as well as holding power. Once the levers are fastened, they can only be disengaged with a standard screwdriver, preventing accidental disconnections.Weidmuller www.weidmuller.com800.849.9343
