I/O System Supports Profinet

Dec. 11, 2007
The BK9103 Profinet Bus Coupler brings manufacturers and machine builders using Profinet access to more than 200 different I/O terminal types from the vendor.

The BK9103 Bus Coupler integrates the vendor’s modular Bus Terminal I/O system as a slave in a Profinet network. The Profinet-certified BK9103 features an integrated 2-port Ethernet switch, which provides more flexible topology configuration. For example, Profinet I/O nodes can be configured with a line topology, instead of the traditional star topology, reducing wiring effort and installation costs in many applications. The BK9103 Bus Coupler supports Profinet RT. It is addressed via a DIP switch, meaning the BK9103 does not require a memory card for storing the address name or additional configuration software.
