Copper-to-Fiber Ethernet Converter

May 1, 2006
The EL900 Hardened Fast Ethernet Media Converter is a two-port Ethernet switch with one 10/100/TX port and one 100FX port, converting copper to fiber optics.

The fiber optic port may be configured for multi-mode or single mode duplex fiber, or single mode WDM with a single fiber cable. The EL900 operates in ambient temperatures of -34ºC to +74ºC and may be mounted on a shelf, wall or DIN rail. The EL900 includes the following features: meets NEMA TS1/TS2 environmental requirements for traffic control equipment; meets IEC 61000-6-2 EMC generic standard immunity for industrial environments; 2K MAC addresses; DIP switch configuration for “link-fault-pass-through,” link down alarm, speed and duplex mode; non-blocking full wire-speed forwarding rate; store-and-forward mechanism; broadcast storm filtering; back-pressure and IEEE 802.3x compliant flow control; alarms for power and port link failure by relay output; and redundant 24VDC power inputs.
