"Make Your Own" Ethernet Switch

March 1, 2006
The ET-5MS-OEM-2 board is a 5-port managed Ethernet switch that original equipment manufacturers can use to create their own Ethernet switch, by adding packaging, a power supply and connectors.

Or they can embed the compact, 3.5-by-2.5-inch board directly into their existing product or system to add Ethernet connectivity. The ET-5MS-OEM-2 is full industrial rated for operation from -40ºC to +75ºC and low power, drawing less than 2 Watts. Like the vendor’s other EtherTrak Ethernet managed switches, the ET-5MS-OEM-2 offers real-time secure performance with SNMP network management, along with RSTP support rings and other redundancy schemes. It also comes with IPm Linux open-source tools that enable integrators and OEMs to enhance the functionality of these Linux-based switches.
