Low-cost, High-speed Vision

March 1, 2005
Designed to accurately sense and evaluate more than 10,000 objects per minute, the PresencePlus P4 Edge vision sensor is well-suited for high speed applications in the packaging, pharmaceutical, bottling, metal stamping, automotive and semiconductor industries.

Priced at $995, the P4 Edge “delivers maximum throughput at an unbelievably low price,” says the vendor. Multiple features of the P4 Edge make it easy to deploy and be operational quickly. For applications in which product lines are constantly being changed, a remote Teach feature allows the sensor to learn new elements it will need to inspect for—without connecting to a PC or shutting down the line. The built-in live video image output allows users to view the sensor’s inspections in real time and also to view failed inspection images without use of a PC. Equipped with 10/100 Ethernet, RS-232 or discrete I/O connections, the P4 Edge is available in both in-line and right-angle versions.
