Also new with Version 7.4, the number of Virtual Communications Relationships among Foundation fieldbus devices has been increased to 50, significantly boosting communication power for customers. Other Version 7.4 enhancements to DeltaV operations software permit faster access to Foundation fieldbus parameters, enabling AMS Suite: Intelligent Device Manager diagnostic screens to populate data much faster. This reduces commissioning and troubleshooting time for fieldbus devices. A new embedded DeltaV Continuous Historian has also been added with Version 7.4 to store the wealth of information that is available in intelligent field devices. The status of a parameter that has been configured for history collection is automatically stored along with its value, allowing users to make better decisions in controlling their processes.
