A comprehensive line of standard function (SF) unmanaged Ethernet switches are available at affordable prices. With price levels 35 percent to 50 percent less than other offerings, and the availability of multimode fiber/copper mixed switches at the price levels of media converters, fully switched Ethernet systems with high immunity are now affordable, making industrial hubs a thing of the past, according to the vendor.
The SF switch line combines high performance Ethernet connectivity for 8 or 16 (10/100 Mbps) ports, with a range of 1 or 2 multi-mode 100Mbps glass fiber port options. System start-up time and ongoing maintenance costs are further reduced, says the vendor, through a complete range of unmanaged switch functions such as redundant power supplies, alarm contact, auto negotiation and cable auto crossing.
