With a sensing range up to 40mm and a small housing, the Q40 inductive proximity sensor has the ability to sense aluminum and steel at the same distance.
This model's ability to sense different metal materials at the same distance comes from Factor 1 technology—a multi-coil design that enables sensing of both ferrous and non-ferrous—and a PTFE coated sensing face (Teflon). The company developed this sensor with multi-metal applications in mind, such as a packaging line where cans of various sizes and materials are being run on the same line. This type of sensor is also suited for hostile welding applications, the company adds. Other features include various Factor 1 and Factor 1+ sensor options and a connector outlet that is adjustable, up to 270 deg. The line offers each sensor head to be mounted in five positionsBalluff Inc.,www.balluff.com/inductive For more CONTENT on inductive sensors, click here.
