The R9-4100 combines RISC processing power with serial and digital I/O capabilities in a compact form-factor.

Features of the computer include a 400 MHz Atmel ARM9 processor, dual 10/100 Base-T Ethernet, one USB 2.0 device and one USB 2.0 host port, eight RS-485 serial ports with 1.5 KV port-to-port isolation, twelve optically isolated digital inputs/outputs, 12 VDC power input with low power requirements and -10 °C - +60 °C operating temperature range. To provide the fastest time to market, the Windows CE 6.0 BSP binary and low-level drivers for system I/O are included. Additionally, the computer's software package is equipped with the company's Talos I/O Framework, which offers a high-level object-oriented .NET Compact Framework (CF) device interface. This interface provides an I/O point abstraction layer with built-in support for the specific needs of digital I/O such as debouncing and logic polarity. Embedded Linux support, including fully configurable components, is also available.
