Belden Inc., a global leader in signal transmission solutions for mission critical applications, announces the availability of its new MarineTuff line of HaloarrestXLink LSZH-Jacketed 600V instrumentation, control and VFD cables. These cables offer reliable, safety-conscious cabling solutions for offshore platforms, equipment suppliers and commercial shipbuilders. These marine-certified cables offer the safety benefits of low smoke and zero halogen (LSZH) jackets while maintaining the physical toughness to withstand the harshest offshore environments.
Belden’s MarineTuff cables are the ideal solution for the most challenging offshore activities such as mobile drilling, fixed platform, floating production, storage and offloading or marine vessels.
Specifying and using Belden’s MarineTuff cables for marine and offshore oil and gas applications can reduce costs because the costly wiring certification process is not necessary during each procurement cycle. Belden’s marine-certified cables are designed from the start to meet the highest standards, ensuring reliable operation.
“Belden products have been installed since the earliest days of offshore drilling platforms,” said Tim Wallaert, Belden’s global director for Oil & Gas Markets. “Our series of marine-certified products is a demonstration of our continuing dedication to the needs and safety of those involved in designing and deploying equipment for use in challenging offshore environments.”
The MarineTuff cables are designed for use in both interior and exterior environments. This makes purchasing easier by eliminating the need to specify multiple cable types. It also leads to earlier production and deployment by accelerating the design, fabrication and installation process.
Belden’s marine-certified cables have been designed and tested to meet the highest standards including compliance with ABS (American Bureau of Shipping), IEEE 45, IEEE 1580 Type P, UL 1309, IEC 60811-2-1, IEC 60754-1,2, IEC 60092-350, UL oil resistance II, UL 1277 TC-ER, UL 2225, IEEE 1202 and FT4 for flame-resistance, and IEC 60332-3-22. Additional features include -40°C cold bend, 90°C wet and dry rating and abrasion resistance.
Belden’s 10-year warranty ensures that developers and users of marine equipment can expect worry-free operation through the proven performance of Belden instrumentation, control and VFD cables.
