The products support a standard Ethernet interface and operate using a proprietary over-the-air protocol for additional robustness and additional security. They make it possible to build line-of-sight, point-to-multipoint wireless Ethernet links that connect "fringe" IP devices, including IP access control readers, remote printers, remote PCs, VoIP phones, point-of-sale devices, digital signage or industrial control devices. The radios include a built-in spectrum analyzer and are IP addressable with web browser based remote configuration and diagnostic tools included. The 5.8 GHz band provides up to 59 channels and less interference than the 2.4 GHz band. The company has recently added FEC (forward error correction) to provide more robustness in harsh wireless environments. Models are available with omni or high-gain directional antennas, with or without government-certified FIPS 140-2 Level 2 encryption. An OEM development kit for embedded development is also available, with a pair of radio modules with Ethernet interfaces, PoE injectors, RF cables, power supplies, and antennas.
