Advantech: Gigabit Ethernet Switches with Dedicated Priority Ports
April 25, 2013
The EKI-3000 series "Light Industrial" unmanaged switches prioritize the traffic coming over priority ports and delay the less immediately necessary data over the remaining ports.
This is especially useful for high bandwidth applications such as video streaming where latency would cause problems. The five and eight port Ethernet switches are available in both 10/100 and Gigabit version and feature up to 60% reduction in power consumption, smart diagnostics, and support for gigabit data transmission. They save on power consumption by shutting down ports that have no link and budgeting power based on the length of the Ethernet cable. This is part of the IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Standard. The units support redundant 12-48 VDC power input and P-Fail relay.
