April 2025 Product Roundup: I/O and Power Supplies
ABB I/O Controllers
ABB’s XIO series is an extended range of all-in-one devices that monitor, control and manage oil and gas flow applications. The ABB XIO-08, ABB XIO-04 and ABB XIO-00 each operate as an extension to the ABB Remote Module Controller family. The need for physical on-site presence is reduced due to the remote control and monitoring of I/O points and serial devices. Up to 22 hot pluggable I/O modules can be added or replaced without power interruption. The XIO series offers new networking features (up to four independent networks are supported), and the possibility to use the XIO’s Wi-Fi as a network or bridge with one of the Ethernet ports.

With security features, such as X.509 certificates, Transport Layer Security and IP allowlisting, this series provides a secure solution for distributed asset management. The ADAM-6024 also supports an over-the-air update feature, enabling efficient remote management of firmware, certificates and configurations. Additional features include P2P and GCL logic rule control, 2000V DC isolation and a -40 to 70°C temperature range.
AutomationDirect Power Supplies
AutomationDirect has added the Rhino PSE-S series power supplies which are encapsulated in ultra-compact, low-profile housings for space-limited applications. These power supplies offer a wide input voltage range, up to 89% efficiency and are available in 5, 12, 15, and 24V DC output voltage options with up to 4.1A/50W. Select models are NEC Class 2 compliant. The Rhino PSE-S series encapsulated power supplies offer chassis or DIN-rail mounting. They are UL recognized, CE and UKCA marked, and RoHS compliant.
Beckhoff Analog I/O Module
With the EL4374 EtherCAT Terminal, Beckhoff introduces a compact (12mm housing) analog I/O module to increase system flexibility and simplify parts management. The EL4374 is a multipurpose, combined I/O for -10/0 to +10V or -20/0/+4 to +20mA signals that can be used for standard automation tasks at a rate of 1 ksps per channel. The EL4374 terminal combines two analog inputs and two analog outputs. Engineers can individually parameterize these channels for current or voltage mode using Beckhoff’s TwinCAT 3 automation software.
Dinkle Rail Terminal Blocks
The P-Lup DIN rail terminal blocks are a lever-up system allow for tool-free wiring. With push-in technology, solid and ferruled stranded wires are secured to guarantee reliable performance. The quick-release lever offers effortless adjustments with exceptional contact stability and long-lasting reliability.
Wago Power Supply
Wagos’s new 2587 Base Power Supply family offers a balance between price and performance. Equipped with a basic approvals package, front-entry push-in, cage clamp connection technology, and an operating temperature range of -30 to +70° C, the Base Power Supply is designed as an entry level product for many OEM applications. These power supplies come with nominal 1-phase 100 to 240V AC inputs as well as 24V DC 5, 10 and 20A outputs.
IDEC Coupler Module
The new SX8R bus coupler module works natively with PLC FC6A I/O modules. Each SX8R supports up to seven I/O modules on the base unit and up to eight additional modules with the use of an expansion power supply for a total of up to 15 I/O modules. The module supports major open networks, including EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP and CC-Link IE Field Basic. The SX8R features one Ethernet port for the uplink connection to the host network and a second local Ethernet port for configuration purposes. The 24V DC power connector block has an operating temperature range of -25 to +65°C and is detachable. Users can choose a push-in or screw terminals. PC-based SX8R configurator software allows users to make operational settings, manage project files, perform system software updates, and monitor I/O and bus coupler status.
KEB Safety I/O Module
KEB's FSoE Safety I/O modules provide SIL3/PLe certified safety functionality over EtherCAT. Using the FSoE protocol, these modules enable safe communication with other devices, simplifying safety integration and reducing wiring complexity. Programmable within CombiVis Studio 6, they offer flexible safety solutions for various industrial automation applications.
Misumi Power Supply
The Misumi ESP10 series switch-mode, single-output power supplies feature 24V DC outputs with up to 600W capacity. These compact models offer high efficiency and long life. DIN rail or direct mounting brackets are available. 150W, 300W and 600W models have a remote sensing function that can be used to correct voltage drops caused by the wiring between output terminals and load terminals.
Pepperl+Fuchs Power Supplies
The new PS1000 power supply from Pepperl+Fuchs features DIN-rail mounting and saves space when redundancy topologies are used. With the PS1000-A6-24.10.R, the required redundancy diode is built into the power supply, reducing the need for additional modules and saving cabinet space and cost. With an industry-leading efficiency of 95%, PS1000 offers better performance while reducing energy costs. The power supply is also certified for installation in Ex-rated Div. 2/Zone 2 areas.
