The new piCobot L from Piab boasts a lifting capability of up to 35 lbs. and builds on the same technology platform as the original. Consisting of a scalable vacuum pump unit and optional gripper, it offers higher vacuum performance and fast movement when lifting heavier items. The piCobot L is also a platform for customized end effector—either developed by Piab’s Custom Line specialists or by a third party. With the vacuum connection at the bottom of the pump, no extra cabling is required when attaching a different gripper unit. It also features an automatic tool changer combined with a docking station. The tool changer is equipped with a lever with locking control over the adapter plate, and this lever can be opened or closed automatically by the docking station. It was designed with rounded edges for direct human-robot collaboration and has an IP65-compliant pump body.
