The Emerald Gen2 is the newest addition to Teledyne’s CMOS image sensor family. Emerald Gen2 is available in 8.9-megapixels or 12-megapixels, in monochrome or color, and in two-speed grades, standard and high. The sensor has a small 2.8 µm global shutter pixel which provides up to 67 dB dynamic range in 10-bit and 12-bit Adc mode, allowing cameras to work in high contrast scenes without exposure issues. The updated sensor’s matrix is centered in a 21 x 20 mm Ceramic Land Grid Array (CLGA) package, which fits 1-inch optical formats. It also has LVDS and MIPI CSI 2 outputs. Low-noise performance is offered with < 3e- readout noise and increased sensitivity and angular response with dual-light pipe technology.
