Hargrove Controls & Automation, a subsidiary of Hargrove Engineers & Constructors, a global EPC firm and a leading industrial automation system integrator, today announced Controls & Automation Engineer John Binion, P.E., FS Eng (TÜV Rheinland) has been accepted to serve on the U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Technical Committee TC 56, which is managed in the U.S. by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
IEC, based out of Geneva, Switzerland, is the world’s leading organization for the preparation and publication of international standards for all electrical, electronic ,and related technologies. The TC 56 committee works on over 60 different published standards focused mainly on dependability and risk management.
“ECIA, as the administrating organization for U.S. participation in the process, operates a US Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to TC 56,” said Vice President, Standards and Technology, Edward F. Mikoski Jr, CStd, FSES of the Electronic Components Industry Association (ECIA). “We are pleased to announce that Mr. John Binion representing Hargrove Controls & Automation has now become a member of this U.S. TAG where he will be sharing his experience and expertise working with the rest of the TAG members to develop official U.S. National Committee positions, comments, and votes in the development of these important international standards for industry. We look forward to his active participation.”
