Upgrade ABB Symphony Harmony Control Networks

June 2, 2011
SCSI extender kits let users of ABB Symphony Harmony industrial control networks upgrade and extend the reach of their control systems.

SD100 SCSI Extender Kits are composed of two SD10D SCSI bus converters and three connector cables. One of the cables is used to connect the ABB IMMPI01 multifunction interface boards to the SCSI converters, while one extra-long SCSI (up to a 160 ft) is used to connect between the converters. The third cable is used to connect the HBA to a converter. Kits were developed for user who either needed to modernize the computer controls and/or wanted to locate the computer controls much further away from the system. According to the company, using the kit instead of replacing the interfaces and associated peripherals can save tens of thousands of dollars.
