ISA's Annual Analysis Division Symposium

Dec. 26, 2012
At the Hilton Galveston Island resort, April 14-18, 2013, ISA will present its 58th Annual Analysis Division Symposium. This event offers professionals a chance to gain insight on process analytic technologies, attend educational sessions and network with new colleagues from around the world.

The core event of the symposia is a three-day program with 25 to 30 technical papers organized in 10-12 consecutive sessions. Topics include sampling, chromatography, spectroscopy, chemiluminescence, and other analytical techniques. All papers submitted for the Analysis Division Symposia are peer-reviewed and edited by a panel of industry subject matter experts. The panel includes division Past Directors, ISA fellows, Ph.D.s, with a combined experience of more than 120 years in the industry. All papers are formatted and published in the symposium proceedings which is given to all attendees as part of the registration. The non-commercial requirements of the written paper and the symposium presentation ensure a high quality technical meeting.

An educational component is held every year on the Sunday before the Symposium. Organized by the Education Chair, this one-day short course is presented by the top professionals in the industry who generously contribute their time to give a primer on process analytic fundamentals. The course content is modified and updated each year, and in this past year included Gas Chromatography, Spectroscopy, Discrete Gas Analyzers, System Design, Sample Conditioning Systems and Communication Networking.

Last year's event also included several major instrument vendors, whom put on specialized and intensive training programs for instrument technicians and mechanics. Vendors included Siemens Industry (www.usa.siemens), AMETEK Process Insturments (www.ametek.com), ABB Analytical (www.abb.com/analytical), and Servomex (www.servomex.com)
