Controller/Driver Includes Ethernet

Aug. 1, 2006
Communication options on the SilverDust IG8 single axis controller/driver include RS232, RS485, CAN and Ethernet. This multi-channel architecture allows for a network of field devices using CAN to work simultaneously with a supervisor network using RS232, RS485 or Ethernet.

The SilverDust IG8 is designed to servo, the vendor’s high torque NEMA 17 and NEMA 23 frame I-grade step motor/encoders and includes breakouts for power, communications and I/O. Closed-loop control (servo) of a step motor provides all the accuracy of a traditional servo motor at a lower cost with superior torque for applications up to 2000rpm, says the vendor.
