Advantech Corporation: COM-Express Mini Module

The SOM-7565 is a Type 10 compliant COM-Express Mini module intended to provide balanced performance with the focus on low (about 8W during heavy loading)-power consumption.

The company’s first to comply with the COM R2.1 type 10 specification, the module is about the size of a business card at 84 x 55 mm and uses the Intel Atom processor N2600 + chipset NM10 at TDP 5W. This processor is said to provide 40% or more improvement in processing power compared to Intel Atom processors N455 and E680. Modules feature soldered onboard memory and an SSD to minimize the effects of vibration. Other features include Intel gfx support for DX9 and OGL 3.0; support for 18-bit LVDS and eDP/HDMI/DVI/DisplayPort; onboard 2 GB DDR3 800 memory and 4 GB SSD; support for 3 PCIe x1, LPC, SMBus, and I2C Bus, SATAII, 8 USB2.0, and GbE; and support for the company’s iManager 2.0 and software APIs. Operating temperature range is -40 to 80° C. Suggested applications include portable applications in point of sale, transportation, medical and factory devices.
